A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Product Owner (PO) and Software Developer Mechanical Design (MD) Tools
Transformers at Siemens Energy, you are a major part of our mission “connecting
efficient factories”. Within a global and distributed development team, you are
responsible to develop software components and to define methods and SW
architectural concepts for global mechanical engineering tools. You make sure
that we develop and build on the most uniform and standardized components in an
agile way, so that we can provide new sustainable engineering software
solutions in a timely manner while keeping operational costs to a minimum. With
your expertise you will also support non-standard functional requirements from
end-customers. Your work contributes to sustainable software development in
line with Siemens Energy guidelines such as cyber security, SE IT agile and
modern state of the art development standards. Their results lead to the
strengthening of Siemens Energy's competitiveness by enabling the engineering
in the sites to work more efficiently.
How You’ll Make an Impact
* As a Software Developer MD, you define the guidelines for the development
of Transformer software tools, and you actively shape their development.
* You analyze, rate, and estimate business/user requirements and design
solutions in cooperation with the stakeholders and the project team.
* You handover and maintain software components for in-house operation at the
transformer production sites as well as perform user support.
* You help to improve the development methods and processes in a
multi-cultural agile and highly skilled team.
* You actively collaborate with teams from different departments and sites in
an international environment.
* As part of the future orientated digitalization and tool development team,
you contribute to the Siemens Energy transformer business in terms of quality,
efficiency, and sustainability.
What You Bring
* Master’s degree preferably in computer science or other relevant programs
like physics, electrical or mechanical engineering and/or software engineering
* Long-term experience (10 years) in developing mechanical and/or
electromagnetic software components and applying them to non-standard end
customer requests.
* Expert knowledge of transformer portfolio, which relates to electrical
and/or mechanical design processes and rules as well as related manufacturing
technologies.
* Proficient communication skills in English are required as well as the
willingness to travel internationally.
* Knowledge of agile methodologies and Scaled Agile Framework is preferred.
* Experience in project management and leading a team
Nice to have
* Experience in software development projects and tools i.e., GIT workflows
as well as continuous integration and deployment
* Good knowledge of software architecture principles i.e., micro service
architecture as well as object-oriented software programming, C or C#
programming language
About the Team
The responsibility of your future department is the development and operation
of a global harmonized engineering tool landscape including the necessary
infrastructure such as PLM and SAP-Systems. Therefore, we are an international
and distributed team composed of different experts such as transformer domain
experts, solution architects and IT experts, operational experts and more

* The professional and personal development of our employees is very
important to us. We provide them with the opportunities to learn and develop in
a self-determined way, various attractive programmes and learning materials are
available for this purpose
* In relation to the "compatibility of family and work", we have a wide range
of offers, e.g. flexible working time models, childcare places at many
locations, the possibility of trial part-time work or even a sabbatical
